Our Story
And how to reach us, whether it's about your stay or something else entirely.
We're Erin and Phil, a DFW family, and like a lot of our guests, we spent years hearing friends talk about their weekend trips to cabins around Broken Bow Lake before we ever came ourselves. Three and a half hours from DFW is just far enough to feel like a real escape from highway traffic and suburban sprawl, without eating up your whole weekend getting there.
We wanted a nature getaway — somewhere close to the river and lake, with real views and real quiet. When we found this particular half-acre, what sold us was the seclusion: almost no view or noise from neighbors, and a backyard that opens straight into the Ouachita National Forest. It gives the whole property a feeling of space you don't usually get from a lot this size.
We also loved how practical the location is. You're a quick drive from Hochatown's restaurants, local breweries, antique and gift shops, and a spot to grab snacks or quick groceries — close enough to make spontaneous plans, far enough to still feel like you've left it all behind.
Lock & Key has been welcoming guests since September 2024.
We're dog parents ourselves, and we travel with our two pups as often as we can — they love the cabin as much as we do. We've also spent plenty of our own time working remotely from Lock & Key, both inside and out on the deck, which is part of why we made sure the WiFi actually holds up.
Our property manager, SkyRun Broken Bow, is your go-to. They're our guest host manager, handling day-to-day guest support — check-in details, late checkout requests, firewood delivery, and anything that comes up while you're at the cabin. They also manage the cabin's maintenance and cleaning between stays, and run pricing and listings across all our booking platforms. Alyssa and the SkyRun team are fast to respond and know the property well.
